Here is info about the Ikibuke if you plan on creating one, any questions feel free to PM Nuan
;// Who are the Ikibuke
The Ikibuke is an organization with origins some 400 years in the making, created by a man named Mashin Akki. Infused with great power by a Spirit known as “The Omega”, he has, over time, built an army with one goal in mind: The eradication of the human species. Having hidden in the shadows of the great wars and having some hand in the creating of them, the organization has operated completely hidden until now. With numbers now strong enough to make their move, they have begun the conquest of lands they have quietly inhabited all these years.
The Ikibuke is made up of primarily three types of people. Those who have been outcast for their differences, those who wish to become stronger by any means necessary, and those who have been ‘assimilated’ into the organization; forced into the Ikibuke because they possess some special gift, power or knowledge the Ikibuke find useful.
;// What are the Ikibuke
The Ikibuke are a blend of Spirit and Flesh; living a sort of Half-life granted them by the great Omega. Upon inception to the organization, a member must give up a great deal, but the rewards are enough to make the sacrifice of one’s humanity and one’s beating heart worth the exchange. Once one has become an Ikibuke, they are ‘undead’, granted a sort of immortality … but it is entirely at the Omega’s whim. In this state of undeath, they gain the ability to see the spirits around them, and to partner with those that have yet to move on to the next world; the Fade. They also gain an immunity to nearly all physical attacks. As death already has one cold, bony hand embracing them, it takes a great deal for them to meet their Final Death.
One must be beheaded, or be impaled through the brain, or otherwise completely disintegrated. Many new recruits believe Immunity means they cannot be harmed. They would be wrong. An Ikibuke can be injured, and they suffer the pain as anyone would. They merely cannot be ‘killed’ by ordinary means.
Time spent among the Ikibuke will bring change to it’s members. Color fades from eyes, hair and skin until the Ikibuke becomes completely white. With the sacrifice of their heart, some lose their ability to feel emotions as time passes. With their humanity gone, so too can compassion, fear, sadness and mercy fade away.
;// Who is the Omega?
The Omega is a mystical being that those of the Ikibuke serve. The Omega is a spirit who, at one time, took in the spirits who were unable to pass on to the Fade due to regrets. He comforted them, taking from them their regret, hate and sorrows; whatever it was that kept them bound to the world of the living so that they could freely move to the Fade. Unable to filter these feelings, the Omega merely stored them within himself. Even the Omega, however, had limits; and it was the day, 400 years ago, that he Infused himself with Mashin Akki that the dam burst and he was overcome with emotions. They corrupted the Omega, driving him to the brink of insanity and changed him into the evil being he is today. Now, he seeks to destroy all of humanity. He continues to ease spirits, but only through servitude to ‘his children’.
When one sees the Omega, on the occasions that he should show himself, he takes on the most despised form of Human; as white as new fallen snow, colorless eyes and hair like spider’s silk. He adorns this form with white monk’s robes that leave all but his eyes a mystery. Looking into the Omega’s eyes is like looking into one’s own personal hell; trapped by one’s own deepest fears. The Omega is distilled evil; the kind that mobilizes serial killers, rapists, murderers and psychopaths. He is hatred and malevolence in a solid form that only those that share his blood can see. None, save Mashin Akki and the six God Spirits know the Omega’s true form – it is something none even half-living could stand to see with their own eyes.
;// How does one become an Ikibuke
Once one has been allowed to join, or has been brought to the Ikibuke, they go through an Initiation. Mashin Akki himself escorts the new recruit to the top of the mountain at the center of the island the Ikibuke call home. At the peak of the mountain, they enter a cave and in it’s depths the initiate is stripped of their clothing and all their belongings, ritually washed of their previous life with water so that they may begin their lives as an Ikibuke without the filth of their human lives. The recruit is then strapped down to a cold, stone table stained red with the blood of all those who have come before.
Once the preparations have been made, Akki summons the Omega himself, giving the being a solid form, so that the rest of the ceremony can take place.
The ritual itself is gruesome; and the pain and shock can and often does kill. It is Akki’s duty to make sure that the Initiate stays awake during the entire brutal ceremony; or the likelihood that the victim will die is nearly 100%.
First, the Omega cuts the Initiate’s chest open, while the victim is still alive. Slicing through bone and muscle, the Omega exposes the still beating heart. If the initiate manages to survive, the Omega then wraps his hand around the exposed heart and begins the next stage; absorbing the blood from his victim’s body. The initiate can feel their body growing cold and stiff as Rigor Mortis takes them over. Death has come to claim them, but the Omega does not allow their spirit to leave the body. As they lay there, helpless, they must remain conscious through the entire thing… or death can slip in and snatch the victim from the Omega’s hands.
Once the initiate is devoid of their Human blood, the Omega begins to infuse them with his own. This takes time, and ‘life’ returns slowly to the body. Once the Infusion is complete, the final and most painful portion of the death ceremony takes place. With one swift motion, the Omega rips the heart of the new Ikibuke from their chest, dropping it into a jar to add to his collection, immersed in the very blood that had been drawn from the victim.
With the ceremony over, the Omega bends over the prone body of his newest Child and blows over the open wound, sealing the flesh once more. The skin around the cut turns gray, right after the ritual, and becomes an easy way of identifying an Ikibuke. They are not to be freed yet, though, as the agony is not yet finished. The new Ikibuke now must suffer through the worst of the pains; the feel of their body rotting and the evil they have been infused with working through their veins, devouring what little humanity they have left within them. With the ceremony over, and the threat of death gone, Akki can then allow them to succumb to the horrors and lose consciousness. Mashin Akki then releases the Omega’s solid form; often leaving himself weak and out of breath. Maintaining the Omega is a very difficult thing to do. If the initiate has survived all of that, he is then assigned to a Shuhan, depending on their skills and Jutsu Natures and are full members of the Ikibuke.
;// What are they capable of?
The Ikibuke have many different abilities granted to them by their unique state of being. However, their strength depends entirely on their rank within the Ikibuke. For the lowest… new initiates and those with no talent, the only special ability they gain is the ability to see spirits. As the years go by, they are granted access to more advanced techniques as they rise in the ranks.
Mashin Akki and his direct subordinates posses one more special ability: Paralysis of those of a lower rank, and the last belongs only to the Leader of the Ikibuke - the ability to inflict unbearable pain upon his followers, much like the technique used upon the Hyuuga branch family members. This however, does not kill them; it merely subjects them to a pain so severe, they might wish they –could- die.
Jutsu:
Hyoi Gattai \\; Jutsu Rank \\; D This jutsu can only be used with a human spirit. Animal, divine, god and nature spirits can not be used for this. What happens is that the Ikibuke opens his/her mind and allows the human spirit to fuse into their body. When fused, the Ikibuke can use the spirit’s knowledge and fighting techniques. When they can work as one, their movements can become stronger, smother, and quicker. This is the most basic skill among the Ikibuke.
Yokonpaku \\; Jutsu Rank \\; C This is the second level skill that every Ikibuke can use. It is taught several weeks after the initiation. The jutsu allows one to fuse their spirit into a medium using chakra. It is the most common skill in the Ikibuke. When they spirit is fused into the medium the physical form of the spirit changes adding abilities to the weapon and the user based on the spirit. Depending on how much chakra the Ikibuke decides to unleash, the power of their blows become stronger or weaker.
Kyokan Yokonpaku \\; Jutsu Rank \\; C - A This is the next step in Ikibuke combat techniques. By pumping in more chakra, the spirit is given a gigantic body, constructed entirely from the chakra, with powers relating to whatever the spirit and Ikibuke can create.
Nijuu Miko \\; Jutsu Rank \\; A-S A difficult but highly powerful technique that one can use after the mastery of the Kyokan Yokonpaku. But even then it is rare for one to beable to use this power for it is very hard to maintain. Just like god level spirits which is why the Shuhans, and the Shishou are the only ones that have been known to perfect it. Although there have been rare cases where lower ranks have been able to perform it. It can be summed up by the phrase: “Two Souls, One Body. Two Focuses, One Weapon.” It involves channeling the spirit inside one weapon and concentrating one's strength inside their black dagger. The weapons are then combined into one huge weapon capable of dealing very heavy damage.
Gusoku Yokonpaku \\; Jutsu Rank \\; C-S The Ikibuke uses his medium, spirit & chakra to create an Yokonpaku which wraps and protects the body like armor. The power of the armor depends on just how strong the user and the spirit is. It is not only a defensive jutsu, but an offensive as well. Although only users in the Divine and higher are capable of making their armor attack as well as defend.
;// Ranks
Shishou: The Leader of the Ikibuke themselves. This is, and shall remain Mashin Akki, alone. The Shishou is known among the Higher spirits as the Omega’s Link, for he is the only thing that connects the Omega to this world. Without the Shishou, the Ikibuke could not exist.
Shuhan: These are the second in command to the Shishou, serving as Akki’s right hand. When a member reaches this rank, they receive a special spirit that is able to control one certain element. The Shuhan are also responsible, as Jounin are in Ninja villages, for the training of those of lower rank than themselves.
Divine Class: Just one step below the Shuhan, those of this rank spend a majority of their time trying their best to gain the title of Shuhan through whatever means necessary. Should a Shuhan die, the strongest within the Divine Class would replace them. There are only 20 spots in the Divine Class, and are often trained on a one-on-one basis with the Shuhan and Mashin Akki himself. Those under his tutelage gain great power.
Lower Ikibuke: There are five distinct levels in the lower ranks of the Ikibuke. One’s rank depends, not on how strong they are, but on how long they have been within the Ikibuke. Epsilons are the lowest – being new recruits, or those who have spend fewer than 2 years. Deltas are Ikibuke who have been in the organization no less than 1 year, and no more than 10. After 10 years or so, if they show great promise, they obtain the rank of Gamma. If a Gamma shows great skill, talent or promise within the next 10 years, they may gain the rank of Beta. To attain the highest rank among the Lower Ikibuke, one must have spent at least 50 years among it’s people, and have shown a great deal of talent, and served the Ikibuke well. Should one prove their worth, they may aquire the rank of Alpha – the highest rank among the Lower Ikibuke.
;// Traditions
The Ikibuke have not formed many traditions, but the few they follow are Law among the organization. The Ikibuke have formed a sort of Cast society where respect for ranks is paramount to one’s survival. Insubordination is neither tolerated, or forgiven. Punishment is quick, and it is severe. One learns, very quickly, their place among the Ikibuke and they do not easily forget it. Respect even among peers is of the utmost importance.
This respect, however, does not apply to those who are still human. The human race is seen as an inferior species; as tools to be used and discarded. They show no love for Humans, and some members even keep a few as slaves.
;// Where do they live
The Ikibuke organization is based on a large island approximately 5 nautical miles off the coast of Lightning. The island itself boasts nearly as much land mass as the entire Land of Water. This island is impossible to reach, however, unless accompanied by an Ikibuke – unless they are a spirit who has not yet passed to the Fade. The Island rests somewhere between this world and the next… floating in a sort of in-between state that prevents all but those in the same ‘in-between’ state from finding it. The island is covered with a thick forest of trees, save for the center, from which a giant mountain rises toward the sky – completely barren of life.
;// How the Ikibuke came to be
Some 400 years ago, The Omega stumbled across a young man with a unique gift: The ability to see and speak to spirits. The Omega formed a friendship with this young man that would change both their lives forever.
One day, the Omega found Mashin Akki teetering on the brink of death. Troubled by his friend’s possible passing, the Omega performed the first Initiation. He saved Akki’s life, and granted him a power he’d never possessed as a human; the ability to control spirits and use them in battle. Akki’s emotions overwhelmed the Omega, and they both became corrupted by an evil as old as the Omega himself. Hatred and malice wormed it’s way through them, eating away at their souls slowly. With his newfound power, Mashin Akki traveled the globe, gathering followers who were hungry for the same kind of power he possessed. His first ‘disciples’ agreed to become like Akki… to suffer through the Initiation and becomes servants of the Omega in exchange for the power he would grant them. At first small, this group continued to travel the world and their numbers grew.
A time came when they could no longer move freely, for their numbers had grown too large, so Akki and the Omega formed a village with Akki as the leader. Time passed. Numbers continued to grow. Their power increased and so, too, did their hatred of the Human race. They instigated war on the villages around them. Slaughtered entire clans. A breeding hatred for Humans has fueled their growth, and as we see them today, they are a powerful threat against the world.
;// Types of Spirits
There are many different types of Spirits; some more powerful than others and thus much more difficult to harness and control. The easiest spirits to control, are those that were once human or animal. Beyond them are the Nature Spirits – wild at nature and difficult to reign in. It takes a great deal of skill to work with a Nature spirit, and only those of Gamma rank or higher can do so.
Above even the Nature spirits are those known as Divine Spirits. These are human and animal spirits that have been attached to this world for more than 500 years – evolving into higher spirits and developing powers beyond those the lesser spirits own. Often, these spirits have lost their original form over the centuries and have changed into something very different.
The last, and most powerful are the God Spirits. These are the most difficult to use, and it is suicide for any ranking less than Shuhan to even try.
;// Goals
The Ikibuke’s goals are simple ones: The assimilation and/or complete eradication of the Human race. Individual’s goals may vary, but as an organization, this is what they are ultimately after.
